This bespoke, wheelchair accessible Oak pergola, built in a Christchurch garden is a focus point and provides a very functional area. The pergola was constructed using timber sources by the client. The design was also provided by the client. All joints within the structure are dowelled mortis and tenon joints or halving joints. I cut all joints and all members before erecting the structure. The oak dowels were made, the uprights concreted into the ground and the rest of the timbers secured. Decking ramps were then constructed to provide wheelchair access.
